Making Virtual Solid has developed a cool little addition to a GPS system. It is basically like a virtual cable that floats above the road showing what way to go. It uses a laser, a set of lenses, and a moving mirror mounted in the dashboard to project a 3D line as though it was actually in front of the driver.
This is an amazing piece of technology that I would love to have installed in my car. Mass produced versions will cost somewhere around $400 as a factory installed option and will be able to interface with many pre-existing GPS systems.
