The iPhone Dev Team has released the code of their iPhone unlocking tool, AnySim, on Google Code. The iPhone Dev Team has been calling AnySim “open source” from the start but not until now have they made the code available to the public.
The reason that they haven’t released the code until now is that they were worried that Apple would use it to lock the phone down tighter with every update of the firmware. I’m not sure what made them decide to do it now but I am glad that they did, this will surely make the application, faster, more reliable, and maybe even easily reversible (just incase you want to relock your phone).
