I don’t really understand why every single time someone comes out with an all-in-one computer they have to compare it to the iMac. Now I do understand that the iMac is basically the only successful all-in-one computer and that is why I’m so upset about this. The Gateway One probably won’t last very long because all-in-ones are only successful when it is the only available option for a mid-range computer (such as the iMac, because there is no other option if you want a mid-range desktop Mac).
So first of all, I think that the Gateway One is ugly, I hate all-in-one computers, I want my monitor farther away then my computer so that I have easier access to USB ports and disc drives, but at the same time I don’t want my screen extremely close to my face, that is practically impossible with an all-in-one computer.
Now let me let you all know some of the specs of the $1299 version of the Gateway One.
- Windows Vista Home Premium
- Intel Core 2 Duo T525
- 19″ 1440×900 Display
- 2GB of DDR2 Memory
- Intel Graphics Media Acceslerator X3100
- 320GB 7200RPM HDD
There are two other versions of the One and they are not customizable.
