According to Om Malik on GigaOm, Ooma will begin selling pre-orders of their Ooma hub and scout devices. The Ooma Hub will be going for $399 and the scout will be going for $39. The products will be shipping next month.
“We didn’t expect the initial response and that is why we are offering a limited number of devices for presale,” Andrew Frame, CEO of Ooma said.
The response for Ooma was great but I think the only reason for it was that they are promising something that no one else has been able to, free phone calls.
I am excited for Ooma, I probably won’t pre-order any devices, however I am excited about it because I think it is a revolutionary product. My guess is they may have some hiccups early on but I still can’t wait to see some of the reviews when it is released.
