I’ve read a lot of lists on various blogs about what not to like about the MacBook Air and what to like about the MacBook Air. I didn’t want to write a post like that so instead I want to explain why I am the perfect fit for the new Air.

I will start my explanation by saying that I am not currently planning on purchasing the MacBook Air, but I will explain that later.

Here’s what I need in a laptop:

•    Super light weight that can be taken with me anywhere
•    Good battery life
•    Good keyboard
•    And the ability to do my everyday tasks, which include:
?    Read RSS feeds
?    Email
?    Listen to music
?    Listen to and watch podcasts
?    Blog
?    Browse the internet

I don’t do any Audio editing, I don’t do any video editing, and I don’t do any photo editing. The only time I really need any power in my computer at all is the occasional time I want to convert a video for my iPod which is done exclusively on my much faster desktop PC.

So now that all of you know my needs (which I believe to be very typical of most computer users) what would keep me from buying this? No, it isn’t the inability to change the battery myself. No, I don’t care about the lack of Firewire, all of my peripherals are USB. Speaking of USB, yes it does bother me that there is only one USB port, yes, the hard drive is a little slow and the price is a little high.

But, all of the problems I have with the computer are simple little problems. USB hubs are incredibly small and light and can be purchased for a very low price. The hard drive is a little slow but it isn’t something that I couldn’t deal with. Also, I think that for what you get, the price is very reasonable.

the real reason I’m not buying a MacBook Air is because I’m not in the market for a new computer right now, if I was though I can guarantee that I would purchase the MacBook Air.

It’s too bad that I’m not in the market for a new notebook, the MacBook Air is one awesome little notebook.
